Clean install, you may have to get a computer service to do it for you. It's a lot of work if you never done it before.

With my Lenovo notebook I have a factory restore feature, there is a hidden partition on the hard drive that will restore the computer back to factory state.

You may have something similar, you would have to call HP and find out. I don't think you would want to do a clean install, not for the faint at heart.

If you have this restore feature you have to back up all your data cause it will all be lost during the restore or clean install.
