The Govt. is expected to intervene to help people stricken with "an act of God". This spill resulted from an accident which is not an "act of God". However, if the coast of any state bordering the Gulf is affected due to the oil, then the Feds can declare and make it eligible for disaster relief. I may be wrong, but at least I hope we can start a debate in lieu of political rhetoric.
