I have to admit I have no f***ing clue whether oil rigs are a net benefit overall or not.

I do feel great distress, pain and anguish at the projected ecological damage and pray that the projections are wrong.

I could leave it at that. Maybe just point out that importing from Saudi Arabia and similar places has a cost, too, see, e.g., recent activities in Times Square.

Similarly, burning coal, whales, trees, and mummies.
