1Mx16 EDO price collapsed - now that will do the shake out that is needed, namely all those new Taiwanese guys who thought they can just build DRAM fabs with impunity: Powerchip and Nan Yan are two that readily comes to mind, Charter from this 'announcement' has given up completely on DRAMs etc. Now if ALSC from last Friday's post is real that they will do mainly SGRAMs and SDRAM next Q, they will survive. As for Powerchip and Nan Yan, look for some merger/buyout with stocks from another company, UMC or JV1 comes to mind. 'Buy' those fabs on 30c to 50c on the dollar and with stock only, no cash! Need to get that JV1 to go public ASAP. patrick tang
