Well, no. I CAN become a Jew. Whether or not this would pass muster in terms of the intention of "Holy" Scripture is debatable. Obviously, the Jews (or at least some of them) made the rule that Gentiles could become Jews. But did God authorize them to do such a thing? A Jew, after all, is not a race, a color, or a country. A Jew is, well...I guess whatever the Courts decide. :-)
