Are you speaking of a unit of energy produced, or a unit of energy consumed? Efficiencies in production mean that the cost of producing any unit of energy, or information, for that matter, will likely decrease over time. And would this not imply that yesterday's energy unit would be worth less in today's world? The proliferation of dollars, or of energy units, both imply inflation. Both assert the need to consume today, as tomorrow's units will be debased.

I think the Micronesian Coral Wheels are better; At least in a cultural environ where the technology for production of the unit is relatively constant...by whatever means.

Forgive me my questioning here; I've never claimed to be much of an economist.
