Multiple sources said a trader entered the letter "b"—as in "billion"—when he or she meant to type "m," for "million," shortly before 2:47 p.m. New York time.

OK, if multiple sources, likely to be some truth to this mega-glitch.

Sources also told CNBC that the firm in question is Citigroup.

Wonder who the sources were. Ron? Mike? Tim? But if all "also" stated Citi was the culprit, I think eventually the fat-fingered-f@#k will be flushed out.

My condolences to those who got stopped out near the bottom, below some major support levels. Better to be protected with puts than to rely on stops.
