If you could explain to me the difference between a pig and a hog I'd be grateful.
Eric, it is greed and only greed. I can't tell you the number of times that I should have sold and been happy with the profits at that time, only to hold for more and see it all vanish or lose a substantial amount of my paper profits. TWAV is my biggest example of this as I accumulated 100k shares at an average of .54 back in 2001-2. I sold 25k shares at like 2.20 to get my average cost to zero. TWAV peaked close to 7.00, but I was greedy and wanted 10. TWAV was eventually bought out by KLAC and I realized a nice profit, but nowhere close to what I had at one time. Looking back and applying it to my decisions today, I take more profit along the way up and settle for less at the top if a stock gets there. Most times pigs seem to get fatter than a hog. I will look at MKSI as I sold over 50% of my holdings the past two days, those sales being on MTSN, KLIC, LSI, ACLS, LTXC, SONS, and MRVC. I continue to hold ACLS, MTSN, FNSR, WFR, LVLT and MRVC.
