In comparison, local injection of a more traditional RNA duplex results in negligible delivery. According to them, the next generation sd-rxRNA compounds will potentially provide significant advantages over conventional siRNA compounds, and offer many of the properties that will be important for the clinical development of RNAi-based drugs.
