I keep up, I know who I'm talking to, too. I get tweeked when I hear a group being referred to as low, I figure we share some of that sensitivity. The thing is, with each generation I've watched how the vernacular slips from finding a stereo type negatifying it and using that to objectify a group of people until we don't mind shooting at those people in an open field without giving due consideration or hanging them from tree. Hearing the term 'goat herder' or 'rag head' in these times is like having my ear flicked from behind. I should be more ready for it but it always catches me off my mellow.
