If you watch the PBS Frontline piece on Brooksley Born,when she, as CFTC chairwoman during Clinton's 2x term, tried to impose limits on derivates Gensler was on the sidelines of that whole debacle. When interviewed for the Frontline story, he was unequivical about her (in 20/20 hindsight)being "right"; Summers, Rubin and Levinson being absolutely wrong. That whole process may have awakened in him a wariness about praising the Emporer's new robe. quien sabe. Shakes
