If someone doesn't agree with you on one issue that taints all the other issues where you do agree?

Its more like this: If someone shows a great ability to ignore logic in one field, I'm very nervous when they agree with me in a 2'nd field, especially if I know my own knowledge in this 2'nd field is limited.

Such is the case for me in economics and monetary policy. I see all sorts of views held with near religious belief, and when I see those same people make fools of themselves in other areas (while being equally certain of their views) I am indeed suspicious. So it is with Ron Paul and the gold standard. Perhaps he is correct, but I certainly have some broad hints that he is a kook.
