That's just nonsense. The AZ law encourages the police to pick up Latinos on the suspicion that they are in the country illegally. If a citizen does not think they are working diligently enough, that citizen can sue the police dept.

It's not the racism that troubles me about the AZ law, but rather the need to carry documentation all the time. Though I'm sure a driver's license will work, since they're only given out to legal residents.

Nope. The citizen in question had a commercial truck's driver's license and his SS card. That wasn't enough.

That's not a big deal except to those who ride buses everywhere. Now they have to carry some sort of ID. Or just make sure they never jaywalk.

How would you feel if you were stopped? I know how I would feel.
