hkd drops with usd, but hkg economy has very little to do with the usa economy, that is one reason why hk real estate has been doing so well relative to ALL other real estate since 1983 even taking account of 1987 crash, 1989 tiananmen, 1991 recession, 1994 red chip whatever, 1997/98 asian financial crisis, 2000 dotcom, 2001 panic, 2003 sars, 2008 great global crisis, etc etc etc
