Roger,

This is one of the few threads where there are people who seem to be interested in technology. Granted there are have been periods where things have gotten briefly out of control. We have had to endure hypesters and detractors. But it is the only thread I have found where there seem to be serious discussions of the technology on a consistent basis. I have posted on Sun, Sequent, MRVC, Tellabs, MRK, and several other boards - and usually not gotten a response or at least an appropriate one. As an example, I am also an MRVC stock holder and when I posted a reference to a review of their GE switch and comparison to others, two people attacked me. One even called me "George 'Ancor' Dawson" - apparently referring to the fact that I do most of my posting on this thread. I have actively tried to get technical discussions going on other threads without success. You would think the Sun thread would be as interested in storage as we are?

The only exceptions I have found have been the ATM vs. Gigabit and Douglas' new thread on FC.

I think this is the reason why this thread has a lot of posts and why I continue to post here. Money is important - but there is also a lot to be said for knowledge. At this point we have all probably paid enough tuition and fees.
