You know what's funny? I am almost retired, so having so much in cash is seen as a great opportunity the financial planners. Since I went to cash, I've had 3 FPs call me asking if I needed their services. Where do all these jokers come from?

The problem is there are circumstances that can evolve where cash isn't worth anything (to speak of).

There is no security from certain types of financial crises.
