I don't know if anything more could have been done to contain the spill, or if anything could have been done sooner.

But I don't see any evidence that Obama is treating this disaster as a high-priority issue. The attitude of "Oh well, what can we do?" doesn't suggest a tone of aggressiveness, contrary to how the AP is reporting things.

On the contrary, Obama has had the Coast Guard playing an active role. I believe the Navy has denoted one or two subs to the operation. It was Obama who pushed BP to hire the local fishermen to lay boom. From what I understand, one of the undersecretaries from the Interior is briefing him daily on the problems. The interior also has people helping with the animal clean up.

There is only so much that can be done at this point and most of the effort is in BP's corner.

You don't think he cares. So then, you don't think he cares about this country. Why do you believe that?

It doesn't matter whether he "cares" or not. He certainly isn't an idle guy. But his priorities suggest that the oil spill is pretty far down on his list of things to do.

I am unclear where you get that impression. That's not my impression.

And neither you nor the AP want to hold him accountable for his lackadaisical response. Probably because both you and the AP could give a s--t unless you can use it to nail conservatives.
