A massive green jobs program would solve two problems(jobs and FF dependence). The trillions we spent on saving bank CEO's bonuses could have gone towards a Depression era works program installing solar on every home in America. Still not too late for that. I would use GM to make affordable, slower, fuel efficient cars and trucks(Hey, don't "We" own it?). They would be variants of proven reliable auto technology such as the toyota 4 banger. Folks could buy the cars with gov't backed loans. We have the means to put this country back to work but the lobbyists control at least 2 of 3 branches of the gov't and I'm not too confident in the SC either. Our money is being created out of thin air and then misallocated into corporations' pockets. Single payer healthcare would be incorporated into any gov't jobs program.
