Ted, let me try again.
If you pass by Home Depot and see a group of Hispanic men standing around, what comes to your mind? They're probably illegal immigrants, right?
LOL. Your're projecting again. I don't think about them at all. Its like seeing people standing on a corner.....unless there is someone cute, I don't notice anyone.
You on the other hand see illegal aliens. Dude, they are not all illegal. Shocker, huh?
There you go, you just "profiled" in your mind.<?I>
I suspect you profile a lot. What do you see when you see white folk? Just curious.
Now if you're a federal agent in charge of rounding up illegal immigrants, what would you do? Go after the easy target like this? Oh no, you can't do that, the ACLU would be on your ass because you're "racially profiling." You'd lose your job and, being branded a "racist," you'll have a tough time finding another.
We're not talking federal agents. We're talking the cop on the street in AZ. There is nothing effective about a cop stopping every Tomas, Diego or Hector to see if he is legal or not. Its a waste of manpower. In addition, street cops tend to be the most racially biased of our law enforcement.
Basically, there's no way to enforce immigration law without being accused of racially profiling.
That's why you go to the employers and the apt owners and nail them. |
