The "under God" part was added in 1954 by Congress "as a Cold War response to atheistic communism," according to this article. hawaiireporter.com Max, where do you get your information for this: "when an american flag company formed a strong lobby to get Congress to accept this Corporate conceived promotion To Sell FLAGS." Is that out of Zinn's book? I've got it at home, but don't recall seeing that factoid before.
