"What did the bigot Ingersoll do to warrant being called a humanitarian?"

YOU are the BIGOT. Are you ever.

Ingersoll was the voice of the poor, the sick, the afflicted: all those who need and want...and WAIT. He spoke against superstition, against slavery, against the subjugation of women, against the abuse of children--everything hideous in the bible--everything brutal, and inhuman he exposed and condemned in his wonderful and sensitive oratory.

In short, he brought knowledge and compassion to the world in train loads--and his legacy lives on today wherever we find tolerance and reason--and people fighting for human rights and peace on earth.

Perhaps no greater humanitarian ever lived...
