I believe you, I find it hard to believe but I do believe you just the same.

"....what the hell ARE you talking about."

I will start with the piece you quoted.

1) 50 years ago there was a huge volume of information flooding society which mocked house wives and claimed that people were not equal if their roles were not the same. I used the term I had used was 'complimentary role' relationships. It was a negative information campaign, it was endorsed by most of society and it was sometimes humiiating for people who lived in loving traditional relationships, as it was intended to be.

You reacted to that with a comment and your preacher article. You suggested moralizing peopel somehow did not deserve the consideration I had given them.

"...to humiliate people who lived complimentary lifestyles where family roles were distinct. ??? That's a good one considering the growing list of moralizers who hide behind the humiliation THEY have rained on those who would live alternate lifestyles.

Ok we disagree there. You used the examples of Swaggart as a phony moralizer to justify that.

We disagree there too. Whatever Swaggart did is on Swaggart alone and is not a reflection on the rest of the people in the world who who profess to live by a moral standard.

2. You claimed the article exposed the preacher to be like Swaggard 'and other phony moralizers' again implying that anyone living according to moral standards is phony.

I disagree with the second notion. The article used the lines ... spotted leaving with a gay escort...
-- has been accused of gallivanting around Europe with a gay hooker... and other terms suggesting he had misbehaved according to his professed moral standard. You added to that by saying he was hiding behind phony moralizing.

So my first impression, probably like any person's was that the guy had been totally busted. But looking closer at the article I see something different.

The boy was hired to help carry luggage because the preacher had just gone through surgery. They both agree there was nothing sexual going on. What 'Galavanting'.

Ok the author told the boy the preacher was claiming not to know he was gay. The boy was shocked and found that hard to believe. You too. Hey, me too especially when that isn't true. The preacher said he did know the boy was gay and the author even quotes him.

"
When approached, the escort -- called "Lucien" by the paper -- was reportedly shocked when told Rekers denied knowing he was a sex worker.
"He should've been able to tell you that," he told the newspaper.

The boy was exactly right and the author is playing games...as can be demonstrated by the other information he reports.

"He (The preacher) allegedly maintained he learned he was traveling with a prostitute halfway through their trip, but did not deny he'd met the man on Rentboy.com"

What is the word 'allegedly' doing in that sentence?

It is btw that preachers stated mission to reach out to gays in a loving way. Also in the article.

"I seek to lovingly share two types of messages to them [homosexuals], as I did with the young man called 'Lucien' in the news story: [1] It is possible to cease homosexual practices to avoid the unacceptable health risks associated with that behavior, and [2] the most important decision one can make is to establish a relationship with God for all eternity by trusting in Jesus Christ?

Maybe you don't like it but it is a far cry from 'raining humiliation' on gays.
