Paul,

I don't make $150K a year. Yet thats what I'm told it costs the company to support me with space, heat, etc, go figure ! We've been told many times by the bean counters how much the company can add to the bottom line by just closing us down and turning the labs into offices. And yet here I am.

You're missing the point. An NC computer doesn't give you just internet access. It gives you all the Apps you need from a central site, all maintained and upgraded overnight. It reduces the chance of a virus entering the system. It will stop employees from playing Doom and whatever at work. You'll have one laser printer down the hall instead of one in every office. All files will be compatible and can be shared easily. No more technicians running around fixing balky drives and replacing crashed hard disks. Starting to see the value yet ?

I think we can agree we've heard and been told what it costs to have PC's around. If the $12K figure is true, and I have no reason to think otherwise, then an NC computer would be the way to go IF it reduces costs.

Quite frankly, I miss my secretary. I think my time would be better spent on other things than typing letters and making charts, things that could be done at lower cost by a secretary. I sure don't feel libertated !

Regards, Maurice
