HMS Awarded Third Party Liability Services Contract by State of Arkansas finance.yahoo.com May 13, 2010 NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HMS today announced that it had been awarded a contract by the State of Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Medical Services, to provide third party recovery services, including cost avoidance, credit balance audits, post payment recoveries, disallowances and Mass Tort. This contract is for a one-year term, with six additional one-year renewal options. The Division of Medical Services, which oversees the state’s Medicaid program and the Office of Long Term Care, provides health coverage to more than 750,000 Arkansans. HMS has served the state of Arkansas since 1994, providing cost containment services that have resulted in millions of dollars in savings for the Medicaid program.
