Of course cisco is not sitting there doing nothing, so it's going to be a very
interesting battle - tilted to the favor of Coms and to a smaller extent to bay.


Reality shows the opposite is more than true.

BancAmerica Robertson Stephens analyst Paul Johnson said he was never
worried that Cisco would lose its dominant position. "It was dopey reasoning"
that led investors to conclude that 3Com, which derives about one-third of its
revenue from networking equipment, could take on Cisco, he said.


Book to bill is now over one and Cisco is taking share in virtually every segment. While Cisco may or may not be fully valued at this time, surely its increasing dominance will cap the stock prices of the others.
