I wish there was an easy answer for that question. I have known some that have had success using an off-the-shelf package such as TradeStation. Most of the successful automated traders that I know use a custom programmed solution that they created themselves. Some use Excel for trade entries, while exiting manually. Others use things like C++ or VB or whatever programming they are comfortable with, to program their own systems.
