That's probably what the crew of the Deepwater Horizon were thinking, as they felt the rig shaking, and the mass of hot gas and oil roared up towards them. No crew was more experienced at deepwater drilling. They were the experts. Just before the fireball engulfed them, they were probably having a discussion about what to do, and what their options were, and how reliable their data was. But nobody hit the Panic Buttons placed in easy reach. Or if they did, it was a split second too late.
