They don't go to church, they don't believe in a god, but they will tell a social worker that they guess they are catholic because their great grand dad was. It's as simple as that.
I know people who parents were born catholic in the 1920s, they stopped going to church at 16 or so when they got away from their parents. These people had kids in the 50s, those kids NEVER went to church, never stepped foot in one. If you ask them if there is a god they will say either no or I don't know. But if you ask them what religion they are, they will reply Catholic, it's like being Irish,Polish, Greek etc |
