I think that, eventually, the political process will follow whatever the majority mood of the public is.

(Even if there is some lag time before that happens....)

Obviously there are vested financial interests all over the place that currently benefit from the system though, and naturally I expect resistance to any changes from those who profit from the status quo.

As Keynes said once though... it is difficult to change someone's mind when they get paid to think a certain way.... <g>
