Gold has to be dug up and held somewhere. The reason gold is so bad is the cost of producing it when all that is required is a measurement of value.

Getting things accepted is easy when people see something really good which is really cheap.

Google was accepted quite easily. Check out how Skype was accepted. People like zenbu.net.nz very much - word of mouth advertizing has worked well.
