back when states had rights. while no time period is close to perfect, it is on a sliding scale. pre 1913 there was no federal income tax and the countries growth rate was explosive.

yes, the international bankers meddled pr 1913 and any president who stood up to them was either killed or an attempt was made to kill them (jackson, garfield, lincoln), so their influence was felt before the federal rerserve act.
