Meanwhile, the mighty US$ roars: finance.yahoo.com China and Japan continue to hold nearly $1 trillion each. They can hire a LOT of Americans for a long time for that. If they hired 10 million Americans each at $20,000 per year that would be only $200 billion a year. They could hire them for a decade. What can Americans do that is useful that hordes of Chinese can't do cheaper and better? Invent new things for a start. Google, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Oracle, are all Made in USA. China is good at breaking copyright, copying with the likes of Baidu and TD-SCDMA but can't actually come up with anything useful themselves. It's probably illegal for them to even try. People who do things differently in China are punished not rewarded. Heck, they even punished the bloke who warned about Sars. Mqurice
