skeeter, The entire premise of those that say we are better off now because of larger government is just plain stupid. We have no way of measuring where we would be now if we never expanded and centralized government and never created a Federal Reserve. I think it's almost certain we'd be even further along economically and we'd definitely be freer if it weren't for centralized government. Real economic progress comes mostly from savings and investment not wealth transfers, wars, and consumption.
