Stockman, DELL's result THIS QUARTER will not "prove/disprove this
myth of $1000 pc soon". It's the forward looking statements (if any)
that will cause the 'only concern'.

The S1K maybe a strech from ASP standpoint of PCs sold, but it is
a valid trend that one just do not need all those constant upgrades.

The machines at $1000-$1500 systems are very capable (even include
pentium-166/200), are you saying those CPUs are junk or will be junk
soon just because it is sold at lower price.

Hope this is not a hidden message being borned in people's mind.

Maybe the message already has borned into people's mind and start
looking at lower-cost pentiumn machines so they can just buy better
machine next time around and keep a spare.

DELL may enjoy the last 'good quarter' when the 'government buyers'
and 'corporate buyer' still buy expensive machine. We know
government has money to burn. I doubt corporate will spend an extra
million of so a year to buy "smart terminal" / PC.
