I think the Republicans probably shouldn't oppose Kagan too hard. Its not like better nominees are standing behind her should she not make it (and in any case she is almost definitely going to make it, it would take a unified Republican party standing behind a filibuster to stop her). Question her, even press her on certain issues. I'm not saying the Republicans should actually start pulling for her, but I'd be against a fillibuster, or any other form of procedural roadblock.
