Okay, I found this quote from Geode on the Shirley McClain "Encounter" board: "Anyone who would scoff at such things doesn't see my altar that's for sure !!! In my case my background from convent days (Anglican Order, NYC) comes out in the Christian symbolism I use. Somestimes it all seems too formal so on such days I just sit at the beach and that becomes glorious 'sacred space'.
