Election notes:
Rand Paul won in the GOP race in Kentucky. Easily. However, both Democratic candidates won many more votes that did Paul in his primary. I don't know exactly what that means, other than that Paul has an uphill battle against the Dems.
Linda McMahon may actually be elected Senator in Connecticut. The wife of WWE owner, Vince McMahon, has often participated in wrestling match making and running operations for the co., including a long period, kayfabe, of course, of her ousting her husband and taking over the show. She admits to being the one who hired the detectives to find out that the AG was lying about serving in Vietnam. It is hard to believe she has a chance, as the Dems have many other good candidates available, but I saw her put a foreign object into her leotards. Hey, if Jesse the Body can do it, so can Linda.
Obama and Biden sold Specter down the river. I don't like Arlen and I kind of like the Admiral, but I think the Pres and Veep left Arlen to fend for himself. Biden was actually in Philadelphia, giving a commencement address at Penn (his daughter was graduating from The School of Social Work there). How hard could it have been to drive a few blocks and get a photo op with Specter? Arlen is a nobody now, so what he thought of being betrayed doesn't matter much. But the gov. of PA is hopping mad, and he is a power.
In the only real election, Murtha's aide won vs. the GOP candidate. He gets to run again in November. If he loses, I sure hope he doesn't get a Federal Pension for serving less than 6 months. <G> |
