Josh, you served and followed orders. Thank you for doing that. It's way more than I ever did.

The weekend before my Dad died he and Mom went dancing. The band struck up The Marines' Hymn, and he stood up and said "Stand up everybody! That's the National Anthem!"

Three days later he got up to make the coffee. Made it, went back into the bedroom and died on his feet.

We still have his bronzed bookends depicting the Flag Raising on Iwo Jima. I can't remember when we didn't have them. They're a family heirloom.

Dad's sheepskin flight suit disintegrated when my brother tried to put it on some years ago. He was able to take off Dad's name patch and put it on his own flight jacket.
