I don't think they made Jack into a Barbarian. He has core values and is acting according to those values. So what about the murders he executed? He has to worry about his own survival just to complete the mission. This all is happening within 24 hours. He hasn't the luxury of time. He did what he had to do.

How do you translate Jack's actions as less than honorable? He was not a blood thirsty butcher. Note he only shot the Secret Service agents in the legs or hands. He only killed killers.

I think it will all turn out well. Jack may be left as some kind of misunderstood monster til the movie clears it up, but who knows. The liberal President proved to be an idiot. They may redeem her but only if she admits to everything.

Tension with "Iraq" will remain. ;^) due to the President lying to her. Then possibly she may forgive her and become allies. The former Presidents aid will be killed as he should be or wounded and jailed.

All just guessing, but it is fun. I think you have to imagine that you have no time and when cooperation isn't instant, more drastic steps have to be taken to obtain the information. That was done in progressive steps. Jack attempted to encourage cooperation but was denied.
