Joe, You have some excellent points. I just got the earning statement from
AMAT. Here are some of the things AMAT is saying about itself: "The semiconductor industry is going through a period of significant transition wth respect to reduced fab capacity investment and sharply lower memory pricing. We are anticipating that the industry transition and related downtown in our business is likely to continue for some time....We are concerned about the severity of the semiconductor industry's current downturn, but we believe that the long-term outlook for the industry remains positive."

I just went to a computer show yesterday and 16MB of EDO RAM was going for $72.00! This is not
a misprint. That's right, $72.00!!! How long is the long term? I do not know nor does anybody else. The market totally dictates the
demand and it seems to me that the supply of RAM has not decreased one bit because last month at the same show, the prices
were in the $80's. AMAT is a dead dog for now. The PR people from AMAT should be fired for doing lousy service to the
stock holders. Conference after conference, they said nothing other than negative news about this great company! I would not be shocked to
see the stock price drop below $20! Long on AMAT but pissed off at the PR guys, Regards,
