Sestak's little bribe problem

Thomas Lifson

Joe Sestak, Democrat nominee for Senate in Pennsylvania has got some ‘splainin' to do, and he is dodging the question. Sestak revealed some time ago that he was offered an inducement (rumored to be appointment as Secretary of the Navy) to stay out of the Senate race against Arlen Specter, something which is a serious crime.

Nobody alleges Sestak behaved improperly. He is to be commended for bringing a criminal act to light. It is important that this be investigated as a serious allegation of criminality in high places.

But now, Sestak wants to say nothing of it. CNN put the question to him, and he weaseled his way around the question, and when called on it, declined to provide any further details. David Freddoso of the Washington Examiner caught the moment and brought it to our attention.
