The story of the skeet champ girl defending her home has floated around the web for quite a while. The main variation sees to be her age. However, the NRA journal, American Rifleman, has a couple stories in the last few months of youngsters using guns to defend themselves in their own homes. Kalamazoo Gazette, MI, 10/02/2009: 13 yo Josh Cichy uses an air pistol and 20 ga shotgun to drive off home intruder. San Antonio Express-News, TX, 01/20/10: 11 yo boy (unnamed) uses .22 rifle to defend himself and his mother after he was wounded by drug-seeking home invaders. Over the years, I've read quite a few similar accounts, so whether the shotgun champ girl story can be verified or not, it is still plausible.
