"If the Chinese can do it why can't we ??" My first thoughts are also questions. Such as, I wonder if they have a process for a comprehensive environmental impact statement that takes 5-10 years to complete? Will the Beijing branch of Greenpeace sabotage the logistics pipeline needed to construct their new power generation facilities? How about the distribution network, will it stay secure? Will China's Friends of the Earth and Enviro Liberation Front try to destroy things? I wonder how many lawsuits they'll have to contend with? Is NIMBY as powerful in China as it is in the US? Will the Chinese Sierra Club launch an all out advertising campaign to stop the project?
