The Sierra Club is definitely pro wind and solar. Hydro - well there is still controversy over the Hetch Hetchy dam, and for good reason if you've ever seen Hetch Hetchy. The controversy goes back over 100 years. John Muir thought it MORE beautiful than Yosemite I believe. My own view is my hike down the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne which leads to Hetch Hetchy was one of the two most beautiful places I've ever been. The Chinese are perfectly willing to poison a certain percentage of their population for the greater good of their economy no doubt. I will leave it to others to decide whether their conscience will tolerate that. In fact it's a sliding scale, trading lives for the economic good. We still trade some. We trade some deaths for our economic well being. China on the other hand jails less people than California and spends 1/8 what the USA spends on Defense.
