So you mean the people that don't pay income taxes and get paid by the IRS for being poor should pay some?

I think that those parts of the economy which are generating income should pay their fair share of taxes.

I'm not a big fan of earned income tax credits. I would rather those people be provided productive work, even if filling in the pot-holes on city streets.

When people become burdens (unless disabled) upon society, they should have an obligation to provide a good/service in return for the support they receive.
