To the "thread,"

Recent posting of test "movies" regarding Simula's BMW/ITS installation and deployment can be found on the web at the Insurance Institute at the following URL:

hwysafety.org

Further explanation of the test (which was run at speeds 2 MPH higher than that required to meet the new 201 Standard) show that the HIC (head injury criteria...generally considered "fatal" in test results above 1000) for the non-Simula protected "dummy" was about 4700.

With the interdiction of ITS, the number was in the low 600's...making the accident survivable.

Additionally, I learned that BMW will be doubling its advertising budget for ITS within the next month or so, raising public awareness of the substantial improvement in safety technology that is now available.

One can expect to see this material (in my view) as soon as NHTSA issues its new 201 Regulations, most likely within the next 3-4 weeks.

Have a good afternoon.
