Maybe grab a diaper and hold your breath! You asked me if Aristotle was a freethinker. I simply said that he was. I made no comparisons or evaluations to anyone. Aristotle used reason and he thought without coercion. As he was basically the first true scientist, some of his premises were obviously faulty--just as our premises are still often faulty. It is not Truth that makes one a freethinker--it is process. NOBODY has the truth. But if you apply reason to facts and eschew superstition, and you do so without ideological baggage and dogmatic reliance on authority, and if your emotions do not unduly disturb your reasoning processes--then you are a freethinker. Your conclusions will NEVER be 100% correct but that is quite all right. The exposure of Aquinas did not come about as an attack against his “freethinking”. Neither you nor anyone else was arguing for his freethinking so I accepted as default your admission that his superstition, his ideology, his dogma, and his emotional investment removed him from any such consideration. The exposure of Aquinas as a woman-hater came about to belie your stupid pretense that he was morally exceptional by virtue of once quoting a tolerance for opinion--As though thousands and thousands of freethinkers (and even thousands and thousands of the very common and ordinary set of humanity) had not confessed to the same tolerance of opinion...in as many different ways as there have been demons in pigs! So once again you're back on your ample rump in the pig sty! Glutton for punishment or just an utter fool? What are you, fella?? Everything all right at home??
