On Fridays, users of the service recommend other Twitter feeds for people to follow. Last Friday, House minority Whip Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., recommended people follow the Special Olympics and Best Buddies Twitter feeds: #FF @SpecialOlympics @BestBuddiesIntl Not much to it, right? Well, Devin Gordon, a senior editor at GQ magazine decided that this was insincere and the best way to make that point was make fun of mentally disabled people on the magazine's website, in a blog post called "Really? You're Using #FollowFriday To Score Cheap Political Points?" #FF @We'reCalling[Expletive redacted]@OnYouCongressmanRoyBlunt @OhYoureSoooooSuperior @IHeart[Slur against mentally disabled people] Well played, sir. Thought it important for readers to know the facts about Congressman Roy Blunt's long time support for Special Olympics. He was a lead sponsor of the Special Olympics Sport and Empowerment of 2004. He is a lead sponsor on the 2010 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Act which supports programs for both Special Olympics and Best Buddies.
