I concur entirely with your assement on a declining deficit.
Reduced spending and/or improved quality spending is a desired outcome with the US, just as it would be with a company whose stock a purchase was being considered.

A decrease in R and D with a company is a certainty to slow or stop the development of said company in the long term.
A decrease in unnecessary spending, such not building a new and improved parking lot for the executives is not in the same catagory.

Glad you are settling down in Paris and recouping your energy from your whirldwind trip of the States.
When do you leave to go to Pakistan for the last quarter and the first quarter of next year?
How is your mother doing and I know she is sad to have you leave.
