Actually BP declined to give an official flow rate.

Looking up some things on the web, I see BP's Atlantis platform designed for 18 wells and production of about 200K bpd.

Their Thunderhorse platform is supposed to reach 250K bpd from 25 wells.

Their Mars platform is designed for 220K bpd from 24 wells.

Those are real BP production platforms in the GOM. As you can see, 10K bpd give or take some is reasonable for peak production. The numbers above are oil only, ignoring natural gas and the barrel equivalent number for natural gas.

Though I can tell you there are plenty of deepwater GOM wells that never reach that level.

The high numbers people are throwing around, like 70K bpd are just unrealistic.
